Simone Arcagni is Professor at the University of Palermo. He is a scholar, consultant, curator and disseminator of new media and new technologies. He collaborates with «Nòva-Il Sole24Ore», «Repubblica», «FilmTV», «Tascabile», «Segnocinema», «Che Fare», and other magazines and newspapers; he is also the author of Digital World, a Rai Scuola programme. He runs a blog on the "Nòva100" website. As a scientific advisor, he has worked and continues to work for various organisations and institutes (Rai, Meet – Centro Internazionale di Cultura Digitale, Rome Videogame Lab, VRE, Invisible Studio…), and since 2021 he has also been a consultant for new media and new technologies for the Museo Nazionale del Cinema in Turin and scientific advisor for ANICA's Union of Publishers and Digital Creators. Recently, as curator, he signed the exhibition Futuri passati (Biennale Democrazia / Polo del '900), #FacceEmozioni (with Donata Pesenti Campagnoni for the Museo Nazionale del Cinema), and Cinema futuro (Rome Videogame Lab, Rai Cinema e Cinecittà). He is also curator for Maker Faire Rome, Sottodiciotto and Letterature migranti. This year he is the Scientific Advisor of the Festival dell’Innovazione e della Scienza di Settimo Torinese. Together with Daniele Rosa, he edits the 'Nautilus' series (Luiss University Press). Among his publications, Oltre il cinema (Kaplan) and Screen City (Bulzoni). For Einaudi he published: Visioni digitali (2016) and L’Occhio della macchina (2018). In 2020 he published Immersi nel futuro. La Realtà virtuale, nuova frontiera del cinema e della TV (Palermo University Press/Rai), in 2021 Cinema futuro. Futurologia del cinema (Nero) and Storytelling digitale (Luiss University Press). His most recent publication is the editing of H.G. Wells' book, La scoperta del futuro (Luiss University Press).
