Sivaldo Pereira da Silva is a Professor at the Faculty of Communication and the Graduate Program in Communication at the University of Brasília (UnB), Brazil. He earned a PhD in Contemporary Communication and Culture from the Federal University of Bahia (Brazil), complemented by doctoral research at the University of Washington (USA). Expertise in data science and software development, using R and Python to work with government data, transparency, and conversational AI. His academic experience includes visiting research at the Institute for Applied Economic Research (IPEA, Brazil) and a visiting professorship at Technische Universität Dortmund (Germany), as well as consultancy work for UNESCO and the Organization of Ibero-American States (OEI). He founded and coordinates the Center for Studies in Communication, Technology and Politics (CTPol) and is a researcher at the National Institute of Science and Technology for Digital Democracy (INCT-DD). His research focuses on communication and democracy, digital democracy, open data and transparency, public opinion and the Internet, data journalism and politics, communication policy, digital communication regulation, algorithmic governance, and Artificial Intelligence.
