Riccardo Raso

Project Manager and Cybersecurity & AI Engineer

Riccardo Raso is a cybersecurity and AI engineer with a background in ethical hacking, machine learning, and digital forensics. He holds a second-cycle degree in Ethical Hacking from Abertay University (Scotland) and is currently completing a second-level postgraduate qualification in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence Engineering.

He has worked in a semi-managerial role within a large Italian company generating over €200 million in annual revenue, contributing to cybersecurity governance and infrastructure assessment. He has also collaborated with institutions such as the Scottish Police (Cybercrime Division), supporting activities in penetration testing and digital forensic investigations.

At the Nexa Center, Riccardo is involved in research on generative AI systems and compliance, with a focus on technical infrastructures, adversarial testing, and secure data pipelines. His interests include explainability, privacy-preserving AI, and the broader societal implications of general-purpose AI systems. Outside of his professional work, Riccardo is a semi-professional middle- and long-distance triathlete. He draws on the discipline and strategic thinking developed through sport to support his research and engineering activities.
