PASTEUR4OA (Open Access Policy Alignment STrategies for European Union Research) is a 30-month project funded by the European Commission’s FP7 funding framework programme. The project aims to encourage policy development in the European Union that is aligned across Member States and with the Horizon 2020 Open Access policy. The project is a collaboration of fifteen European organisations from ten different countries (http://www.pasteur4oa.eu).

Workshop objective

The main goal of the meeting is to bring together Research Institutions from the South West Region of Europe (which includes Spain, Portugal, Italy and Malta) allowing the exchange of ideas and policy practices among participants and discussion on the ways to improve existing policies or develop new Open Access policies aligned with the Commission’s Recommendation and the H2020 requirements.

The workshop is by invitation only.

    The Nexa Center for Internet and Society is located in via Pier Carlo Boggio 65/A, on the West side of the Politecnico Campus between via Pier Carlo Boggio and Corso Francesco Ferrucci.

    We warmly advice to reach our entrance either arriving from North (from corso Vittorio Emanuele II along via Paolo Borsellino) or arriving from South (from corso Luigi Einaudi/corso Peschiera, along corso Ferrucci and then via Boggio). In both cases, go to the entrance on via Pier Carlo Boggio 65/A where you will find an intercom should the door be locked. Go upstairs following the external stairs. If you are familiar with the Politecnico, we are above the via Boggio cafeteria ("Bar Cristian").

    by TRAIN

    The Nexa Center is located 1.2 km from the Porta Susa Station and about 2.3 km from the Porta Nuova Station. If you arrive at Porta Susa and if the climate is not adverse, exit from the "corso Bolzano" or "corso Inghilterra" exits and reach us on foot (approximately 15'). From Porta Nuova, instead, you can walk (about 30'), take a taxi or take bus #33 or bus #33B and get off after 8 stops at stop 618 (see below "public transportation").

    by AIR

    From the Torino Airport "Sandro Pertini" you can reach the Nexa Center by taxi, allow approximately 30 minutes for the ride (but potentially more at rush hour), and it will cost approximately 35 euro. Unfortunately the other transportation options (bus, train), described here, are just not that attractive. The nearest intercontinental airport is Milan Malpensa, which is connected to downtown Torino by a few direct buses or by train (Malpensa-Milan and then Milan-Turin).

    public TRANSPORTATION

    All the following GTT lines stop in the neighborhood of the Nexa Center: 15, 16, 42, 33 and 33B (stops 622 or 618 "Ferrucci" in corso Peschiera) and 56 (stops 3196 or 3197 "Monginevro Est" in corso Ferrucci). The nearest (1.1 km) metro station is "Vinzaglio". Further information about lines, stops and arrival/departure timetables can be obtained here; real-time bus arrival times for specific stops are available here: just enter the stop number.
    The station no. 110 "Ferrucci" of ToBike (the bike-sharing service of Turin) is just a few meters away from the entrance of the Nexa Center.

    PARKING

    You can freely park in the Campus parking of the Politecnico, which is accessible from Corso Ferrucci 119/A, but notice that it may be difficult to find an empty parking slot.
