It aims to better align both the process and outcomes of R&I, with the values, needs and expectations of European society."

RRI includes the design and implementation of policies to:

  • engage society more broadly in its research and innovation activities,
  • increase access to scientific results,
  • ensure gender equality, in both the research process and research content,
  • take into account the ethical dimension, and
  • promote formal and informal science education.

The partners of the RRI in ICT Forum project include: Sigma Orionis (coordinator) Euclid Network, iMAL, Istituto di Studi per l’Integrazione dei Sistemi, University of Ljubljana, Zentrum für Soziale Innovation.

Objectives:

The RRI-ICT Forum aims at monitoring, analysing, supporting and promoting SSH (Social Sciences and Humanities) contribution to and RRI (Responsible Research and Innovation) approach in ICT research and innovation.

The project approach is to constitute a team curating the RRI-ICT domain, in particular with reference to Horizon 2020 European projects, and empowering other projects and the European Commission.

The Nexa Center designed and maintained the content of the RRI in ICT Forum wiki, which was the online platform at the core of the project activities (and it's currently cached by the Nexa Center).

On February 2, 2015 the First Project Review took place with a positive evaluation

The Nexa Center, based on the partial results of this project gave his contribution to the Workshop "RRI nelle nanoscienze e nanotecnologie" held in torino on June 14, 2016

An annual conference with all the stakeholder in the field of RRI in ICT was planned to be held in November 2016. Even if the project consortium met several times for the organization of the event, it did not take place due to bureaucratic issues concerning the project coordinator Sigma Orionis that went to bankruptcy (for more info see on the EUR-Lex portal here).
