Laura Fabiani graduated in law in 2025 from Sapienza University of Rome with a thesis on the protection of personal data in the age of artificial intelligence, including a comparative analysis of the EU, the US, and China. Throughout her academic career, she has developed a marked interest in the legal implications of emerging technologies, with particular regard to data governance, the security of digital infrastructures, and the empowerment of the subjects involved in the development and use of advanced technological systems. During her visiting fellowship at Nexa from January to June 2026, Laura is working on a study on the legal and policy implications of the EU Commission’s proposal for a “Digital Omnibus”.
