Carolina Nicosia is graduated in Law at the University La Sapienza of Rome in December 2016, with a thesis on Legal Anthropology. Currently she is Junior Research Fellow at the Nexa Center since March 2017, focusing her research on the fields of digital commons, Privacy and Copyright/Copyleft. more >

Federico Cairo

Federico Cairo, graduated in Philosophy at the Collegio Superiore of University of Bologna in 2005 and in Media Engineering at Politecnico di Torino in 2008, received the Ph.D. degree from Politecnico di Torino in 2013. Nicola was an Intern at Nexa Center in 2015. During his stay at Nexa, he contributed to the bootstrapping of Public Contracts. He designed a semantic graph and implemented a complete data processing pipeline for representing public procurement information as linked data. more >

Dario Chaifouroosh is an Energy Engineering student at the Politecnico di Torino. In 2014 he attended the course Rivoluzione Digitale held by Professor De Martin and was given the opportunity to work as a Summer Intern at the Berkman Center for Internet & Society at Harvard University in 2015. more >


Alessandro Quaranta

Alessandro Quaranta is a telecommunication engineering student at Politecnico di Torino. In 2012 he attended the course Rivoluzione Digitale, held by Professor De Martin and in March 2014 he started an internship at the Nexa Center for Internet and Society. During this period, he helped Simone Basso in the development of the Neubot application for Android, with particular attention to the use of Android NDK. more >

Luca Leschiutta

After graduating in Electronic Engineering, he pursued a PhD in Information Technology at the Internet Media Group of the Politecnico di Torino. His fields of study have been image compression and wireless networking. He also taught programming and networking courses. In the past he worked as a reliability engineer at Alenia Spazio in the ISS project.
He has been at the Nexa Center since the very beginning of its formal activity and he is mostly involved with system administration and web development. more >

Elias Carotti

Elias S. G. Carotti received the Laurea degree in Computer Engineering in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in computer engineering in 2004, both from the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy. In 2003 he was a Visiting Researcher at the Electrical Engineering department, Penn State University, State College, PA, where he worked on joint source channel decoding for predictively encoded sources. more >

Dr. Irene Cassarino holds a degree in Management Engineering a PhD from the Polytechnic of Turin. Antonella Giulia Pizzaleo

Dr. Antonella Giulia Pizzaleo (Rome, 1974) holds a degree and a PhD in Communication Sciences. After her PhD, she worked as a lecturer at Sapienza University in Rome, in the fields of new media and shared production of knowledge by social media. She also worked as a journalist, writing on technology and social aspects of Internet use. more >
